Our Mission

PSX finds it an integral mission to bring S.T.E.M. to Black communities in order to give the youth exposure to opportunities outside of their neighborhoods. Our mission is to provide minority students with the tools and information needed to grow their interest and awareness in the STEM fields. PSX aims to connect students’ passion , interest, and hobbies with STEM careers and entrepreneurship. As we continue our work to eliminate the disparity in STEM, we look for more to join our mission and initiatives to increase STEM outreach in predominantly Black communities.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to develop the next generation of Black STEM leaders, CEOs, moguls, executives, and entrepreneurs. The hope is that one day all students in our cohort embody such a high level of knowledge, skills and STEM dispositions that they can go on pursue their creativity and passions through science, technology, engineering or math!

Our Why

As minorities in the STEM field, we recognize the disparity and the under-recruiting of minority groups. As of 2015, the National Action Council conducted a study reporting a clear breakdown of who was working in science + engineering.

Amongst other minorities, the Black community are the least represented in science & engineering occupations.
